The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has pledged close to £500,000 to regenerate part of Anglesey after plans for Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station were postponed. The funds, which will support Anglesey County Council’s North Anglesey Economic Regeneration Plan, also follow the news of the closure of the Rehau factory in Amlwch. The money will contribute to a package of measures aimed at boosting business activity, the supply chain and employment, increasing tourism, improving transport and infrastructure and reviving the High Street.
