An armed policeman stationed at a nuclear power station fraudulently claimed more than £1,100 in expenses for accommodation and energy bills, a court has heard. Daniel William Fazakerley was a constable with the Civil Nuclear Constabularly (CNC), the group that provides armed protection for nuclear sites. Temporarily based at the Wylfa site near Cemaes on Anglesey from July 2015, he was allowed to claim expenses for accommodation and utility bills. But the jury at Caernarfon Crown Court heard the 27-year-old, of New Chester Road, Birkenhead, Wirral submitted inflated claims and was paid £1,174.86 more than he’d actually spent over seven months.
