Hazard reduction at Magnox’s Wylfa Site on Anglesey has reached a significant milestone, with three-quarters of the used nuclear fuel now emptied from its twin reactors. Wylfa site’s priority to remove fuel elements from the world’s most powerful Magnox reactors has progressively gained momentum throughout the year to achieve this new landmark. The fuel is transported to Sellafield in Cumbria for reprocessing.

The woman who gave up everything to start a honey farm on Anglesey claims the construction of Wylfa Newydd could destroy her business. Katie Hayward has run Felin Honeybees from a farm outside Cemaes since 2012 after giving up her well paid job and selling her convertible sports car to raise money. It has proved a gamble worth taking with national awards and she has established a successful venture.
