Ovo has hired Theresa May’s former energy adviser to work with its chief executive as it plots its expansion into home services and technology. Georgia Berry, who left No 10 after the general election, is to join the mid-sized energy supplier in September as chief of staff to Stephen Fitzpatrick. As special adviser to Mrs May, Ms Berry was one of the proponents of the price cap pledge that many energy companies opposed. Mr Fitzpatrick, who has often clashed with the Big Six on industry issues, was a supporter of the plan.
