Enso Energy and the former U.K. national Green Investment Bank now owned by Australian investor Macquarie, have revealed plans to develop an extensive solar project portfolio across England and Wales that will reportedly include tracker and bifacial technology and will be financed by power purchase agreements.

Yorkshire Water has launched a tender for a new eight-year framework agreement covering the construction, operation and maintenance of solar panels across 150 of its sites. The renewable infrastructure will generate electricity to be purchased by the water company under a long-term private power purchase agreement, with the remainder to be exported to the grid. The water company expects the move will slash energy spending and save approximately 6,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions every year, as well as help enhance local biodiversity.
