Edinburgh-based global sustainable energy company SIMEC Atlantis announced on Tuesday the launch of a $12.7 million/£7 million bond which it hopes will help fund its pipeline of tidal and waste-to-energy projects.

SIMEC Atlantis hopes to raise £7m via a new five-year bond offer launched today, to fund its pipeline of waste-to-energy and tidal power projects. The global green energy developer – which is 50 per cent owned by industrial player SIMEC, itself part of the GFG Alliance – aims to complete the conversion of the ageing Uskmouth coal power plant to run on ‘Subcoal’ pellets made from waste materials, including plastic waste, by 2021.
