The Conservative Environment Network (CEN) has today officially launched a new group in Westminster to strengthen the lobbying power of Conservatives on green issues. The new MPs’ Caucus and Membership will give Conservative MPs, Committee chairs, and former Cabinet Ministers a “platform to drive their agenda in Westminster” CEN said, adding that it would help support “bold action” on decarbonisation across government. Members have all pledged to support action on seven core principles, including tackling climate change, preserving rural economies, improving the natural environment, and promoting clean growth. A number of high profile MPs have already signed up to join the Caucus, including Rebecca Pow, James Heappey, Peter Aldous, Heidi Allen, Amber Rudd, Richard Benyon, Oliver Letwin, and Sir Nicholas Soames.
