SSE and Equinor have sold a stake in the world’s biggest offshore wind farm to the Italian oil group Eni in a £405 million deal. The FTSE 100 utility company and Norwegian oil giant each sold a 10 per cent stake in the first two phases of the Dogger Bank project, which will be built more than 80 miles off the northeast coast of England. Dogger Bank will have a total capacity of 3.6 gigawatts when all three phases are built by 2026. The companies say that it should generate enough electricity to meet the needs of six million homes each year.
