Talk of a nuclear power station being built at Rutland Water have been dismissed as ‘untrue’. Leaflets and posters have been circulated saying that EDF Energy was behind the plans. One said that they had been granted permission by Rutland County Council to carry out geological surveys on Hambleton Peninsula for the power station called Hambleton A. However, Rutland County Council, EDF Energy and Anglian Water all dismissed the plans.
