NUCLEAR workers at Berkeley and Oldbury power stations will be balloted for strike action over pension concerns. Senior union officials agreed to organise a strike ballot for 16,000 nuclear workers at sites across the country following a row over proposed pension reforms. The government’s expectation is that the final salary pension schemes in place across the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) estate will have been reformed by April 2018. A strike committee will draw up the timetable for the ballot with the first strike day expected in February or March.
