The Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme – which recently launched a new £10 million funding call for innovative local energy systems – is holding a series of free workshops in the Highlands and Islands this month. It is currently offering stage one support of up to £100,000 for projects to support the costs of developing investment-ready business proposals. This funding targets rural and remote areas of Scotland, small towns and settlements and areas which are off the gas grid. Successful projects will show a potential for increased energy efficiency, reduced emissions and a boost for remote communities through smart, local energy systems.
