EDF Energy and Doosan Babcock have been served improvement notices from the Office for Nuclear Regulation after a worker on the Hinkley Point B project was injured in a fall from height. The ONR said an ongoing investigation into the incident had exposed gaps in the compliance of legal requirements by the licensee EDF Energy and contractor Doosan Babcock in their approach to working at height. The incident, which occurred in April, saw a Doosan Babcock employee sustain a cracked verterbrae after he fell through a skylight while walking on a roof. The staff member is expected to make a full recovery following the incident, EDF Energy said.
