BBC BREAKFAST suffered a technical difficulty this morning, and presenter Dan Walker was forced to interrupt the live broadcast to take over. This morning BBC Breakfast viewers tuned in to see the show hosted by Dan and Louise Minchin. During an update on the top headlines, both presenters discussed the new nuclear power station in Hinkley Point, Somerset which had begun construction this week. “Victoria is at the site of the new reactor for us this all morning, morning Victoria,” Louise handed over and viewers then saw the reporter live from the site. However, moments into the live link, the show suffered technical difficulties with the sound quality and Dan was forced to interrupt. It’s not ideal,” Louise added. “But we will be back with her a little later. Lots to look forward to on the programme as well.” Viewers took to Twitter and one said: “#BBCBreakfast BBC has lost the art of outside broadcast.” “Watched #BBCBreakfast for a whole 2 minutes… then #switchedoff,” another remarked. Many also commented on the controversial nature of building a new nuclear power station. A tweet read: “Hinkley Point is a bad deal for all concerned. The focus should be on investing in renewable energy, which would help the fight against climate change and create new jobs. #BBCBreakfast.”
