EDF Energy has announced that it has completed application of nuclear safety concrete for the Atkins and EDF-designed technical galleries, a network of connected tunnels at the 3,200MWe Hinkley Point C nuclear power station designed to carry cabling and pipes. The detailed structural design of the technical galleries was created by Atkins as part of an ongoing programme of work helping EDF Energy deliver the 3,200MWe nuclear power project. The project is being carried out by the teams from Atkins’ Energy and UK & Europe businesses, in collaboration with colleagues from integrated project and programme management consultancy Faithful+Gould.
