Funding to establish a green energy hub and an underwater technology centre in Scotland are among the measures the Treasury is expected to announce in tomorrow’s budget. About £27 million is likely to go towards the creation of an energy transition zone in Aberdeen that will look to transform the northeast of Scotland into a globally recognised location for clean energy technology such as offshore wind and hydrogen. The Treasury is expected to announce £2 million for a North Sea transition deal to help oil and gas companies move towards a more environmentally friendly future.
