The Nissan Leaf has become the first electric car in Germany to win approval to provide vehicle-to-grid (V2G) services, allowing the Leaf to provide power from its battery back to the grid during times of peak demand. The Japanese carmaker said yesterday the Leaf has won approval from German regulators to act as a mobile battery backstop. It means power can flow from the grid to the car when it is charging, but also feed from the battery back into the grid when required.
