The first minister’s self-declared climate emergency is now “front and centre”. Sturgeon rolled out the line that her “Scottish green deal” offered an “economic and social opportunity”. Tell that to the workers at BiFab, Sturgeon’s great green manufacturing hope that largely exists on taxpayers money. Tell it to the workers at Ferguson Marine, also now on the taxpayers’ payroll, and facing an uncertain future, thanks to her government’s green virtue-signalling. I predict Sturgeon’s Scottish green deal, like all her other previous promises, won’t amount to anything, beyond perhaps bolstering the first minister’s CV for the job she covets at the United Nations.
