Evolt UK has installed its rapid charging units at a purpose-built charging hub that includes solar power and energy storage. The hub is located on Princes Street in Dundee city centre and features rapid charging units, 18 bays of solar canopies and an integrated energy storage system utilising second-life EV batteries. Evolt has also installed six of its Raption 50kW Rapid Chargers, capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously in approximately 30 minutes, and three 22kW Evolve chargers.

Ofgem proposes system reforms to support electric vehicle revolution. Flexible charging can allow at least 60 per cent more electric vehicles to be charged according to Ofgem research. Reforms will keep costs down and harness benefits to energy system Flexible use of grid will also accommodate more renewable generation and other new technologies. Ofgem has set out proposals to take forward reforms to support millions of new electric vehicles forecast on Britain’s roads in the coming decades while keeping costs down for their users and all energy consumers. More flexible use of the energy system will allow more electric vehicles to be charged from the existing grid and reduce the need for expensive new power stations and extra grid capacity to be built.
