An eco-protester arrested four times for blocking the M25 as part of the Insulate Britain protests is a Labour councillor and the mother of the activist who stormed off a TV set earlier this week. Theresa Norton, 62, is the mother of Liam Norton, who stormed off Good Morning Britain on Wednesday after comparing the group’s struggle to that of Winston Churchill. The Labour councillor, who represents a ward in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, was arrested in May after blocking a town centre road as part of an Extinction Rebellion demonstration. Mrs Norton, who joined the Insulate Britain campaign alongside her son, has also been arrested four times in the last eight days for blocking motorways in the south east England.
