Bruce Power and Cameco yesterday announced the launch of a centre for next generation nuclear technologies as one of a series of initiatives to leverage their existing partnership to help rebuild the Canadian economy post-COVID, protect the environment and fight disease. They also announced that Cameco will supply an additional 1600 specialised fuel bundles for the 2024 restart of Bruce unit 6, which is currently undergoing refurbishment.

Cameco and Bruce Power announced a series of initiatives – highlighted by the creation of a centre for next generation nuclear technologies – to leverage their existing partnership to help restart the Canadian economy, protect the environment and fight diseases like COVID-19 around the world. In addition, further to the Bruce Power Life-Extension Program and the existing long-term supply agreement, Cameco and Bruce Power have announced the additional supply of 1,600 specialized fuel bundles for Unit 6 scheduled for restart in 2024.
