A joint venture including a Warrington nuclear industry specialist has won a contract to support accelerated clean-up work at the West Cumbria nuclear site Sellafield. Amec Foster Wheeler – which employs 1,200 staff in Knutsford and Birchwood and 250 at Sellafield and Barrow – Hertel (UK), and Shepley Engineers form the team awarded the contract.The joint venture partners have been working collaboratively at Sellafield through the existing multi-discipline site works framework, and under the new agreement they will continue to share knowledge and experience and allocate work accordingly to provide the necessary skills.
