The National Trust has been attacked for being “actively involved” in a hydroelectric scheme that could reduce the Conwy falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in north Wales, to a “trickle”. A vital component of the £12 million scheme, which is yet to receive approval because of concerns about its environmental impact, is on trust land at Betws y Coed in Snowdonia.
