Five of world’s largest oil companies have been shamed by a group led by the Church of England’s pension fund for failing to set climate change targets, while Royal Dutch Shell and Total have received the blessing of ethical investors. The Anglo-Dutch and French oil giants are the only majors to have set long-term climate change targets that are aligned with goals set by governments within the Paris Climate Accord, according to a group backed by the Church of England Pensions Board and 30 other investment funds.
